#Whigged started in an IPM chat. People have been likening the Democrats status quo politics to the Whigs for a long time now and we wanted to come up with something that not only showed what can happen if a party doesn't listen to it's people but the elitist "Let Them Eat Cake" (or Donuts, as it were) attitudes.
The Whigs were a party that formed in the 19th century in America during the Second Party System and a big reason why they didn't last past 1854 is because they liked to 'ride the fence' just as the Democrats do today. So when we say someone should be #Whigged, we are basically saying they should just leave politics.
