Ro Khanna (D-CA)

Ro Khanna currently serves as the House Representative of California's 17th District. He was #Whigged June 12, 2018 for his endorsement of Joe Crowley. Being one of the more progressive members of Congress, people were particularly disappointed that he chose to endorse the man who takes lots of corporate money, including from MIC, Private Insurance and Big Pharma, over the progressive, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, running against him.

What happened next is why we do what we do. He engaged us.

Once people explained what #Whigged was and I showed that the portrait was an American, not English, he got what we were doing. And from our pushing (meaning the whole of the left not just people included in this thread) he endorsed Ocasio as well.

Now it probably won't help him much for doing this but it does invalidate the Crowley endorsement in a way, so, we will take the small win. Just remember we need to push at every crack we can to get more progressive policies and policy makers running the government. Keep up the good work everyone. 

Later on June 13th, Intercept posted an article by Briahna Gray and Ryan Grim, in which they talk about how people on Twitter got Khanna to endorse Ocasio.
